“Travel is not a reward for working, it’s education for living” ~ Anthony Bourdain
Hello! I’m Nicole or these days commonly known as Ava or Ella’s mom, sprinkled in with the occasional “You’re Corey’s wife, right?”. I am the family planner or “The Director” of Road Trippin With The Rudes.
Born in the late ‘70’s actually during The Summer of Sam in Bronx, New York (I’m the queen of random facts & song lyrics 🤷🏽♀️). I grew up in a home of strong personalities where everything was open for debate/discussion. That setting was the perfect launch pad for my career. As a young Padawan in Corporate America in the late 90’s, I gained lifelong friendships, lessons and a crash course in “adulting 101”. Armed with the company objective and corporate Amex, I traveled throughout North America & India.
In 2003, I was given my most challenging & rewarding assignment…Ava 💕. Things immediately came into focus yet moved at hyper speed. Fast forward I had married the love of my life, Corey and before I knew it Ava was 13 and Ella 3. Our schedules were insane and I missed my best friend who had become my roommate that never put things back 😫. “The goal is to laugh forever with someone you take serious.” right? Something had to give, we decided I would stay home. I’m was cool with pb&j’s & couponing because it meant more time as a family.
With a little more time (not much the mom struggle is real), we began planning family trips. Corey & I check out YouTube university for everything. Sadly when it came to travel we didn’t see our family dynamic or the answers to most of our questions. Ella asked us to start a YouTube channel and that is how Road Trippin’ with the Rude’s was born.
Thank you so much for coming along for the ride. Your love, comments, questions and support.
“Until the next time, keep trippin’”
